I'm on Verizon Wireless. I've been waiting forever for the supposed fabulous HTC One. One caveat, I purchased my mom a Samsung Galaxy GS4 which I got to play with for about 10 days. Mom decided that she didn't want any cell. So I returned the GS4 when the HTC One dropped at Verizon -- all of this was happening within a week of the HTC One's arrival. The HTC One is a beautiful handset, quite well made & I'm completely underwhelmed. Love the speakers but, that isn't a make or break for me. Hate the 4MP camera. Not pleased with the placement of buttons etc. Cannot stand Blinkfeed & I'm beyond annoyed that HTC doesn't give one the option to "opt out" completely of Blinkfeed. Yes, I know you can designate another page to be your home page, however Blinkfeed is still there, taking up space. Taking up what could be my 5th page of screen real estate. I definitely thought there were a lot of excess gimmicks on the GS4 but, I could pare that down without rooting, I think. The ability to have the phone be a TV remote - once again not a make or break. The HTC somehow feels bulky & after owning an HTC Incredible 2 for over 2 years, the screen size doesn't feel that much larger. Don't like the way it feels in my hand with or without a case. What I do like about the HTC is the screen brightness when looking at text though truthfully, in the week I was messing with the GS4, I don't remember having any brightness issues. Also the photos I took with the GS4 seemed very detailed & clear. I'm asking for your help in breaking my personal stalemate. I have one more week before I have to finally decide. If I get the Samsung - I'll order the 32GB model online. Should I keep the HTC? I've read so may reviews & watched multiple videos, I'm totally confused now. Or is there another Verizon phone that you think I've overlooked. I do like the idea of a less bloatware heavy phone but, I don't think that can be achieved without rooting & I'm too skittish to do it myself. Love some feedback, input, thoughts, something?
Thank you.
Thank you.
