NEW PODCAST FEEDS!
SAME GREAT URL!
I've started introducing new podcast feeds for ALL active shows. They're in the same location as the old feeds, so there's no need to re-subscribe.
Some shows have the new feeds already. Others will have them soon. Shows are getting them one at a time as new episodes are released.
Among the changes you'll see:
* Audio feeds are now noted with "(MP3)" in the show title. Hopefully this will help people realize that this is just one of four versions of the show. I suspect some people may have assumed that the one without the format type was the "official" or "best" one.
* "Video (small)" is now "(Video-LO)", "Video (large)" is now "(Video-HI)", and "Video (HD)" is now "(Video-HD)" to match album art. (If you subscribe to multiple, it conveniently also alphabetizes them in order as HD, HI, and LO. (LO is tiny and sucks and only kept around for legacy users. Don't use it if you don't have to.)
* Album art has been brought up-to-date replacing "Video" with "Video-LO", "Video-HI", or "Video-HD" as applicable. Now you should be able to tell what version of the feed you're looking at even if the feed name is not completely visible. Also, outdated art (like Eileen in some of the All About Android feeds) has been corrected. Know How art will also be corrected.
* Album art is now in 1400x1400 size as per Apple's recommendation. This should stop blurry album art from appearing in places like the iTunes store.
* Show descriptions have been updated. For example, Tom Merritt will no longer be listed as a Triangulation co-host.
* In most individual show feeds, episode titles now start with the show abbreviation instead of the full show name. This should be very noticeable in This Week in Computer Hardware and This Week in Enterprise Tech. Now you will be able to see more of the episode title if you've got limited space.
* The "Radio Leo" feed now correctly lists all Leo's appearances on ALL shows. (Some were missing before.)
* The "All TWiT Shows" feed now actually lists ALL shows. Some were missing before. (Also, OMGcraft has the show name before the title, so it's not just something like "Tip: Learn To Mine".)
* The TWiT Twitter account (@TWiT) now says when an episode is OMGcraft rather than just tweeting out something like "Tip: Learn to Mine".
* No more HTML exposed in episode descriptions.
* Support for multiple Internet content ratings systems.
