I am having an issue with an HP pavilion a1410n running windows XP media center edition 2005. The issue is that when my friend went to boot her computer she got the message, "WINDOWS ROOT>\SYSTEM32\NTOSKRNL.EXE IS CORRUPT OR MISSING" Okay now normally I would just install the disc that came with the computer but unfortunately she threw the disc away. I thought about installing a new OS on her computer but here is where it gets tricky. When I tried to boot her system and go onto safe mode I noticed the computer wont recognize the keyboard. I tried 6 different keyboards, USB and PS/2 interface. Neither of them were recognized.
I tried to use a blank drive to install the OS on the computer but still no luck getting the keyboard to work. I get to the message, "Hit any key to begin but none work. Does anyone have any suggestions? any help would be appreciated.
