Keyboard won't type occassionally in Android

I am using Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread & have installed apps namely, AutoCallRecorder to record my calls & a few more. I use EDGE for Internet. The phone's keyboard sometimes stops working. It will show up but it won't type. Also, calls are made after a delay meaning after I tap the call button , sometimes it takes a while to make the call rendering me helpless, if I tap call multiple times then it would make the call that many times & I have to manually cancel each one of them!
