Hello,

I have a Seagate Go 320GB external Hard Drive.

When connected to computer it shows in Explorer as 157 GB out of 298 GB
However when accessed it shows empty.

In Disk Management, it shows as Healthy, Primary, and proper GB free/ available.

In CMD:
----------------------------------------------
DIR
Volume in drive W is SeagateRED320GB
Volume Serial Number is B015-3F7B

Directory of W:\

File Not Found
-----------------------------------------------

chkdsk:

the type of file system is RAW
checkdisk is not available for RAW

-----------------------------------------------

I have checked permissions, hidden, etc....

I did : attrib -R -A -S -H /s /d W:\*.*

got a list of a few files, it said that it was unable to change attributes of these files

-----------------------------------------------

I have run icare recovery, testdisk, recuva, and a few others that i don't remember.

What I got was:

there was RAW file system found
there was 139 GB of UNKNOWN DATA ( this was with a program called WinDirStat )

in LINUX, I could actually get the directories to show up, however the disk would either unmount and I was lost, or when it would actually stay mounted, the folders still contained either no files, or files that were 0kb in size.

I know this data is on the drive in some crazy format or the TOC is messed up. I have Googled and tried every thing I can....

maybe there is physical damage?

Please help if anyone knows of anything else to try.

I am pretty savvy with hardware, and have learned a lot about hard drives. This really feels like it should be solvable.

I am attaching the screen shots i took

Thank you in advance
