running Spinrite to work on Hard drives

I have 2 hard drives not attached to any computer. I want to run Spinrite to check and fix them. Do they have to be installed on a dedicated computer to do this or can I attach them to any computer to run in the background? I have a docking station that I have used to download and upload data on other hard drives. I just don't have a spare computer to install these on to run Spinrite the way I've done in the past. I'm not sure I know how to do what I want to do either.
