My company has asked me to launch a new marketing campaign with the goal of gathering user information. We are going to host media and offer up an embed code for free use.
In exchange, we want to know who (what site and geo location) has embedded the code and who is viewing the media. At the viewer end we want to know: Total views at given time frames and the geo location of the viewers. I know there is additional "standard" analytics that we can also get through Google Analytics.
What I don't know is how cookies will help or if they are needed and what analytic tools should be combined to get the result we want. All thoughts are appreciated!
