Wireless ISPs v.s. Satellite internet providers

My parents and sister happen to live in an area that is short on internet service options.

They can opt for a local wireless ISP provider, which has relatively low bandwidth (2Mbps for $49/mo, 8Mbps for $99/mo) but no data transfer caps or latency issues. At least, I hope so - I put in a info request to them to find out.

They can also opt for a satellite provider like Exege Exede (formerly WildBlue) or HughesNet. But beyond the data transfer caps, they have high latency and expensive equipment to purchase. Blessedly, they have a wide-open southern sky view.

Exege Exede appears to be the most reasonable, simply because they have a 5-hour "unlimited" window daily that I can time the download of updates and big downloads in. But outside of that window, they're capped at 10GB a month. I forsee that being a big problem, particularly if my sister starts streaming a lot of YouTube.

There's also the 3G or 4G cell phone internet providers, however none of the providers have a particularly good signal. We could possibly put in an antenna on a tall TV antenna tower, but we still have the issue of our closest tower being 5 miles away. I'm also not aware of any good options to connect such an antenna to a 3G or 4G router.

They're 7 miles from their phone provider's central office, so DSL is out. So is any form of cable provider.

Any options that I'm missing? Any recommendations on providers?
