Boss picked up a new Toshiba 1350u monitor. I removed the old monitor and plugged it in (vga cord as I didn't have an HDMI handy). I must have picked a resulution that was inappropriate because now I have "unsupported video signal" on the monitor. I plugged in the old monitor but get "Out of Range" error. To make matters worse apparently Microsoft disabled the F8 key on Windows 8 so I can't easily get in and change the settings - and can't see the desktop. Is there are way to boot into safe mode without F8 and without being able to see the Windows desktop?

I'm going out to buy an HDMI to see if that allows me to get in but right now I am out of ideas.
